Directions

The gateway to Krabi is usually Krabi International Airport with a number of direct flights to and from Bangkok each day.

 

Direct international flights from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm are also operating regularly.
Another airport option is Phuket International Airport, around two hours' drive away and served by over 50 airlines.

By Air

Krabi Airport is situated about 20 km south of Krabi Town. At Nadivana Serviced Apartments we offer a transfer service if you specify your arrival time; otherwise there are efficient, regulated taxis available to Ao Nang.
The new international terminal, with customs and immigration services, provide visas on arrival and enables you to pass through passport control here, avoiding Bangkok’s long lines. Phuket International Airport is about two hours drive by car and is worth considering as an alternative arrival point as the flight frequency is greater and the airport is served by more than 50 different airlines.

A number of airlines fly Bangkok to Krabi. Thai Airways, Bangkok Airways, Air Asia, Nok Air and 1-2-GO - Orient Thai. Tiger Airways is another option. Instead of traveling via Bangkok, Singapore is a convenient connecting airport.

By Road

Buses leave from Bangkok's Southern Bus terminal. Prices vary depending on comfort. Additional information at www.transport.co.th (Thai). Journey time is around 12 hours and tickets can be bought from almost any travel agent or hotel. There are also direct bus connections from Ko Samui (via Surat Thani), Had Yai, Phuket, Trang and many other destinations, including Malaysia. Private tour buses also operate the same routes. Contact any local agent for more information. All buses arrive in Krabi Town. From there it is easy to catch a local bus or taxi to Ao Nang.

By Train

There is no direct train to Krabi. But you can take a train from Bangkok's Hualamphong Station to Trang or Nakhon Si Thammarat and take a bus or taxi to Krabi.
For Trang, an express train leaves Bangkok daily at 17.05 and reaches Trang at 09.40 and a rapid train leaves daily at 18.20 and arrive at 12.20.
For Nakhon Si Thammarat, a rapid train leaves Bangkok daily at 17.35 and arrives at 10.45 and an express train leaves daily at 19.15 and arrives at 12.00. You can book tickets from any tour agent or see www.traveller2000.com.

By Sea

Express boats cover every port along the coast with daily departures and providing direct transportation between Phuket, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, RaiLey, Koh Ngai, Langkawi, Krabi and Ao Nang. Every hotel, guest house, tour agent etc will have up-to-date schedules and ticket information. They will also be able to arrange a private speedboat if you are feeling adventurous.
